Its was all about the tanks....


Itinerary

We will be leaving St Andrews the morning of March 19th and traveling to Danville, VA for an overnight visit. We plan to participate in the Tank Extravaganza at the A.A.F. Tank Museum. The museum has promised indoor and outdoor demonstrations of armored vehicles, exhibits of military equipment and RC tank battles involving more than 40 units. We also intend to work on the Science Belt Loop at the Danville Science Center. Overnight accomodations will be provided by Cub Scout Pack 374 at St Lukes United Methodist Church. Pack 374 is local to the Danville area. They will be joining us for dinner and some of the activities. We will be attending Palm Sunday worship services at St Lukes before returning to Winston-Salem.

Saturday, March 19th
7:30am Gather at St Andrews
8am Leave Winston-Salem from St Andrews
10am Arrive at the A.A.F. Tank Museum
noon Bag lunch at the Tank Museum
3pm Arrive at Danville Science Center
5pm Arrive at St Lukes for dinner and activities
Sunday, March 20th
8am Breakfast at St Lukes
9am Palm Sunday Service at St Lukes
11am Leave for Winston-Salem
1pm Arrive at St Andrews

What to Bring

  • Pack 962 will be provide all admission fees and meals as noted.
  • Each boy will be responsible for his own spending money. Both Museums have gift shops.
  • All attendees should bring a bag lunch for Saturday and money for lunch on Sunday.
  • The pack will provide Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast and snacks.
  • All Scouts and leaders should bring Class B uniforms for Saturday and Class A uniforms for Sunday. Parents should bring clothes appropriate for Palm Sunday service.
  • Remember to bring sleeping bags and an extra change of clothes.
  • Each den will be bringing items for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. Contact your den leader for details.
  • Simple board games are welcome. We will have an opportunity on Saturday to play games with the other Pack.

Note: as per BSA standards, no electronic game, radios or other electronic entertainment. Cameras are OK but they will be the sole responsibility of the boy.
